Significance of Manchester United signing Ten Hag
Sir Alex Ferguson's goodbye to MUFC

After losing out to Manchester City in 2012-13 on the last game of the year, Manchester United lift it up the trophy one final time in the decade. One final time it also was for legendary boss Sir Alex Ferguson who retired that season after 27 years in charge at Old Trafford.
His legendary run included one of the greatest reigns in the Premier League, having won 38 trophies in his time. More than any other manager in history.
Since then united have had 4 different managers with relatively less success as the board continued to impose its total control over the club away footballing decision and more on commercial reveneus. The Glazers basically made poor decisions with players, play styles , managerial appointments as they were overshadowed by SAFs departure.
Now with Erik Ten Hag is the new manager, has some autonomy of decision making , playing attractive football and they seem to have control and seem to be on a path where the club may be feared again....something the fans had not seen since SAF's departure. The club made signings which indicate progress, won the Carabao Cup ,is on the verge of a UCL spot and also on the verge of a takeover from either Qatar/American owners and are in the FA Cup final all in the space of a year....

Hence it has taken a lot of time and many would argue it has taken too much time for a club of this stature not to make such decisions in the past but now as things are progressive they must trust Ten Hag long term as he is lauded as one of the best tactical and level headed managers around in this time and his work so far presents less of an argument not to trust him long term
