Problem with Erik Ten Hag and Man United

It has been a while since ETH overtook proceedings as manager of the prestigious club, Man United. He has won the Carabao Cup, got united back to CL  football, and impressed fans with his signings and tactics during his first year at that club.

ETH has been somewhat of a tactical genius over the past few years and many of his opponents could not crack his approaches but that is also a reason he's suffered and here is why -

Playing too narrow: Opponents exploit this with wide players.

Not suited to possession football: The team doesn't have the skillset to play possession football and they are over reliant on counter attacking

Last 5 minute sub: Some don't like the last 5 minute sub to turn the game.

First-choice team: It's still not clear what United's first-choice team is, it also does not help that the team has suffered many injuries , six first-team players are out with long-term injuries.

Well, there are bound to be some issues whenever a new manager is employed which is not a surprise but at a big club like Manchester United where fans lack any sort of patience it is absolutely fundamental and essential to get the fans on board with whatever is done but unfortunately ETH has not been able to do that so far this season with the team languishing in midtable.

Their are still rumors of his sacking but why?

  • Public falling-out between manager and players
  • Supporter unrest
  • Questions over recruitment
  • Lack of stability both on and off the pitch
  • Half-time substitutions in four of the 10 league games this season
If ETH is unable to get the fans back on board we could looking at yet another sacking. Questions can be raised on the fans and saying they lack any sort of patience , they are highly demanding and are highly reactionary but in the end, the board is only listening to their final decision when it comes to keeping or sacking a manager....

The manager believes he can find way to get the team to win, only that can help cure the pain of the fans, they arent here for tactics...but it has to be said that his man-management skills are also being put to the test both with a enraged fan following and unsettled team

Is it the board...the manager....or the fans that are more at fault? Well, the board has also been under pressure due to takeover rumors and fan hate and there is no guarantee on how that will pan out they need to be conscious as only they can deliver what is promised of a club of such high stature...but again trust is what is lacking between three areas of the club...their are more questions than answers at this point....which is never a good state for any club
